In 2014 Lydell was selected by The National Conference of Black Mayors to create this beautiful hand painted plate for President Barack Obama, the plate was presented as a gift from the mayors. Lydell was selected by The Mayor's Conference to represent The United States at the International Conference of Mayors in Africa which presented artist from around the globe for cultural affairs.
